End x Saucony “Burger”

End x Saucony collaboration.  Great concept that uses top materials and provides a vivid Shadow 5000.

The upper is draped in a perforated nubuck & suede;  lots of nice touches of leather and comes with a custom “burger” box.  Insoles come detailed with both brands Saucony/End;  and a woven tongue tab depicting a burger.. naturally.  Condiments accompany the pair with BBQ & Mayo lace packets which allows a quick lace swap if desired.  The details are just glaring all over the shoe and finish the knockout with an always classic gum outsole.

I mean, who doesn’t like a good burger.

AF1 Taiwan

Nike Air Force 1 Taiwan.  Heralded as being one of the greatest Air Force 1’s and in many eyes a must have for any true collector.  These were released in 2001 and its near impossible to find this shoe in new condition, let alone being able to find a pair.

White patent leather dresses the upper while kept in cold with an ice outsole.  Beautiful gradient swooshes with red being on the lateral side and a navy blue being on the medial.  And the lining.. one can only wish that Nike still made linings like this on Air Forces.  Instant gravy feel…

How do you like them & more importantly, how do you rate them?

3.26 Air Max Day!

Celebrating the original release of the Air Max 1 on March 26, 1987, Nike has declared today March 26th “Air Max Day”.

Here is Nike’s release commemorating the birth of the Air Max1.  The Air Max Day Air Max 1 features the iconic original white and red colorway, but with a modern twist; a Volt midsole. A special “3.26” tongue label marks the shoe’s birthday.  What do you think of this new rendition?

AF1 Nordic Pack

Nordic Pack.  Style Number: 308038 431.  It was designed by Jeff Staple and released in 2006 and was the women’s version of the Nordic Pack.  There are a lot of nice details on this shoe, for me these were one step ahead of the men’s release.  Some ballistic nylons, merino wool, army olive swoosh and backtab, and a bright liner.  There are also silhouettes of skiers on the mid-panel.

It has the Nordic map captured on the insole and comes with two laces.  The rope laces looks great against the shoe.  Just picked these up recently.

Bespoke: Off The Cuff

About 5 weeks back I had met up with a friend at 21 Mercer that was in town to make a Bespoke.  My only plans were to go there to chill for a couple hours and see my friends design; so much for that.  Not sure who I was kidding because by the time my friend was done with his render, I was already holding materials in my hand planning my next move.

So here is my end product.. a Bespoke fittingly named “Off the Cuff”.  Grey canvas upper, sail midsole.  Binary bottom eyelets, laces and outsole with infrared pivots.  Blue vipera swoosh, backtab & heel strip.  Leather deubre with gold tipped aglets.  Cork insole and alce draping the liner and secondary swoosh.

AF1 Black History Month 2008

Every year Nike releases a special shoe to commemorate Black History Month.  Some years the shoes have been available to the general public while others have extremely limited and only given to selected individuals.  The BHM release in 2008 was just that.  Its been a sought out shoe for many Air Force 1 lovers and just has exquisite detail.  African mud cloth on the foxing, premium leather for the rest of the upper and liner.  The leather of the vamps and toe box are laser etched with symbols used on mud cloth decorations. The sock liner is also laser etched with inspirational words from Dr. Carter G. Woodson.  The shoe is completed with wooden deubre’s and and lace tips.  Just a beautiful shoe and proud that I am owner of a pair.

Bespoke: Libertad De La Segundo

I am not one that typically likes loud or busy patterns.  My personal choice is to typically go with earth tones… but when I walked into 21 Mercer and saw the various Liberty Prints, I knew I had to use one of them.  This particular shoe pays ode to two of my favorite rap groups.. De La Soul & A Tribe Called Quest.  Some folks loved this shoe, while others detailed their disdain.  I’ll update later with proper details.
